Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Sky Golden, Johannesburg, South Africa, for the Palesa app and the Palesa waitlist website. If you do not agree, do not use Palesa.

Google Play’s terms also apply to download and any purchase you make through Play. Those are Google’s terms, not ours.

What Palesa is

Palesa is a guided timer for routines. It walks you through timed activities one at a time.

You do not need an account to use the app. There is no account wall before you run a routine.

Routines and session notes you create are stored on your device today. That is how the product works now. It is not a promise that Palesa will only ever store data on the device. If that changes, we will update these terms and the privacy policy before it ships.

What Palesa is not

Palesa is a wellness and productivity tool. It is not medical care, therapy, counseling, or a diagnosis. It does not treat ADHD, anxiety, sleep disorders, or any condition. It is not a substitute for a clinician, and it is not an emergency service.

If you need medical or mental-health help, talk to a qualified professional.

We do not promise that using Palesa will form a habit, improve focus, or produce any particular result.

Palesa does not keep a streak you must maintain. Nothing in the app is a commitment to come back every day. Skip is allowed.

Who can use it

This version is offered first in the United States and South Africa.

Palesa is not directed at children under 13. Do not use it if you are under 13.

License

We give you a personal, non-exclusive license to use Palesa on your devices for your own routines.

You may not copy the app to sell it, reverse engineer it except where the law allows, or use it to build a competing service from our code or assets.

Your content

You keep what you create in the app (routines, activities, notes). We do not claim ownership of that.

You are responsible for what you put in the app. Do not store content that is illegal or that you do not have the right to keep.

If you uninstall the app or clear app data, that on-device content is removed from that device, except any copy Android Auto Backup already made.

Trial and payments

Closed testing is free. There is no purchase in closed testing.

After you first open the app, Palesa may unlock the full product on that device for 7 days. That trial is in-app. It is not a Google Play “7-day trial” on the store listing, and it is not a Play billing free-trial offer.

When the trial ends, one paywall may appear at Start. It does not appear on the running timer or on Session complete. Until you buy, Start is the gate. The rest of a session you already began is not cut off by a paywall.

There is no crippled free tier. Closed testing is free. Money is Play billing after the app is on the store.

When the app is on the store, payment is Google Play billing. Google processes the purchase. We do not take card numbers in the app.

Manage, cancel, or request a refund for a Play purchase through your Google account (Play Store payments and subscriptions). We do not run a separate cashier.

Prices, if any, are shown in the Play purchase sheet at the time you buy.

Waitlist website

The waitlist site, if you use it, is only to ask for a note when Android is available. There is no buy button on that site.

Acceptable use

Use Palesa for your own routines. Do not try to break the app, overload any waitlist form, or use it to do anything illegal.

Privacy

The Privacy Policy explains what we collect and what we do not. Read it with these terms.

Availability

We aim to keep Palesa working. We do not promise it will always be available, bug-free, or fit for a particular purpose. Features can change. First markets are the United States and South Africa.

Disclaimers

To the extent the law allows, Palesa is provided as is.

We are not liable for lost routines, lost time, or a decision you make after using a timer. If the law in your country (including the South African Consumer Protection Act, where it applies) does not allow us to exclude a responsibility, that responsibility stays.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change. If a change is material, we will update the hosted page before it applies to new use.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without taking away mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
